Who are we?

                 

                  A & R Cabinet Company was founded by Raymond and Agnes Easter in 1981.  This was after many years of working for family members at B & J Cabinet Company.  B & J, though one of the largest custom cabinet shops in Richmond, has since closed.  A & R opened it's first location in Church Hill in an 1,100 sq. ft. building. A & R incorporated in 1984.  In 1985, Donna (daughter) joined the company.  At this time we only sold custom cabinets and countertops.  With increased demand for our custom products we moved to our current location in Henrico County with over 4,000 sq. feet.  Raymond III (son) then joined the company as a full time employee in 1987.  The entire family was now working together. 

                 

                   Demand for our products always exceeded our production capacity.  That was one reason we began selling stock cabinets.  We also found that the consumer was demanding the ability to select between custom and stock cabinets depending on their needs. Hardware and countertops grew in interest to the consumer and therefore the availability of a wide range of products to meet everyone's needs.  Prior to this time form and function had been the priority.  Though we always offered the option of high end hardware products, few consurmers steered from the average in the "norm" in the '80's.  With the increase in technology and insistence on individualism consumers now demand individuality, high quality, form, function, aesthetics, comfort and fair pricing.  In answer to their demands, A & R has expanded our offerings to a wide range of product to meet every clients needs.

                

                   Raymond Jr. retired in March 2004.  Raymond III and Donna (son and daughter) bought the company (in an effort to continue the family legacy).   Agnes still works in the office.  Raymond Jr. still comes in and works a couple of hours here and there to help out.  We have a healthy outlook on the future of our company and welcome the everchanging needs of our clients.
